Germany has publicly unveiled the latest Eurofighter Tranche 4, marking another step in the modernization of its combat fleet and the strengthening of NATO’s air capabilities.
The new model was showcased by Airbus Defense & Space and is part of the upgrade program known as “Quadriga”, which provides for the delivery of dozens of aircraft of this standard to replace older versions currently operated by the Luftwaffe.
According to Airbus, the new Tranche 4 aircraft represent the most modern version of the Eurofighter currently in production for Germany, with expected operations extending for decades.

Although it retains the same general appearance as previous Eurofighters, the Tranche 4 brings important changes beneath the fuselage. The main highlight is the adoption of a new AESA ECRS radar, developed to increase detection, tracking and combat capabilities in complex environments.
In addition to the new radar system, the aircraft features improvements in avionics and weapons integration, allowing greater compatibility with modern weapons and expanding performance in air superiority and strike missions.

The Quadriga program is part of Germany’s broader strategy to keep the Eurofighter as a central element of its air defense, especially as the country evaluates the future of next-generation European projects such as the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).
